Company Overview

Company : My Lifeline

My Lifeline is built to make healthcare delivery smoother and more connected with a focus on mental health, rehabilitation, and home care. Real-time dashboards, secure messaging, health data management, and patient-facing tools all come together in one platform, designed to plug into regional healthcare systems and follow HL7 standards for interoperability. Custom forms, task planning, and detailed care documentation round it out, all in service of one goal: better coordinated, more engaged patient care.

Industry : Healthcare Management Platform

Services : AWS EC2, AWS RDS, AWS ECS, AWS Elastic Load Balancing, AWS ElastiCache, AWS CloudWatch, AWS DevOps Guru, AWS CodeBuild, AWS ECR, AWS CodePipeline, AWS S3, AWS Route 53, Java, TypeScript, Python

The Challenge

My Lifeline handles some of the most sensitive data there is patient health records which meant scalability and security couldn't be treated as separate goals. As the platform grew its customer base, its infrastructure had to grow with it, without ever loosening the security protocols protecting that data or falling out of step with HIPAA compliance.

As a platform healthcare providers depend on for continuous care delivery, downtime wasn't a minor inconvenience it was a real risk to patient services. My Lifeline needed to hit 99.99% uptime, consistently, not as an aspiration but as a baseline.

All of this had to happen without costs spiralling. Running a secure, always-available healthcare platform in the cloud is inherently expensive, and My Lifeline needed to keep performance and security high while still managing AWS spend intelligently through smarter resource use, auto-scaling, and efficient storage rather than just paying for more infrastructure.

Growth also meant onboarding new clients constantly, and doing that manually wasn't sustainable. My Lifeline needed a way to spin up new, isolated environments quickly and consistently, without a manual process eating into the team's time every time a new customer came on board.

And underpinning all of it: security that never lets its guard down. With sensitive data on the line, the platform needed layered protection encryption, access controls, continuous monitoring built to stay ahead of threats, not just react to them.

The Solution

CloudZenia rebuilt My Lifeline's infrastructure around one core idea: healthcare platforms don't get to choose between scalable, secure, and cost-efficient they need all three, at once.

Serverless via CloudFormation

ECS and S3, easier maintenance.

Zero-Downtime EC2 to ECS

The Impact

The result is infrastructure that matches the seriousness of what My Lifeline does: deliver care platforms people can depend on, every day.

The shift from EC2 to ECS, paired with a serverless setup on S3, gives My Lifeline scalability that doesn't come at the cost of backend performance or budget. Isolated RDS environments per customer keep HIPAA compliance and data security airtight, backed by private subnets, backups, and strict access controls. Disaster recovery across CloudFront, S3, and Route 53 keeps the platform at 99.99% uptime - exactly the reliability a healthcare service needs to earn trust.

On the operations side, AWS auto-scaling, reserved instances, and efficient storage have brought costs down without touching performance or security, while CloudFormation-driven automation makes onboarding new clients faster and far less manual. AWS CloudWatch and Jaeger give the team the visibility to catch issues early and resolve them fast, and the CI/CD pipeline means new updates reach users continuously with zero downtime, every time.
